1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BeeTransfer mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Notice below. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service & Eligibility

BeeTransfer is an iOS application that transfers photos and videos between iPhones at their original quality. Transfers occur either directly between nearby devices (peer-to-peer) or through an encrypted relay when devices are not on the same local network. You must be at least 13 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. User Accounts & @username Rules

Some features require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. Each account may select a unique public handle ("@username"). You agree that:

• Your @username must not impersonate another person, brand, or entity;
• Your @username must not be offensive, misleading, or infringe third-party rights;
• Handles are assigned on a first-come basis and may be reclaimed if they violate these Terms;
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Transfer content you do not have the right to share, or that infringes any intellectual property, privacy, or other right;
• Transfer unlawful, harmful, abusive, harassing, or sexually exploitative material, including any content that exploits minors;
• Send unsolicited or unwanted transfers to other users;
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, interfere with, or circumvent security or verification mechanisms of the Service;
• Use the Service to distribute malware or to violate any applicable law or regulation.

Recipients control whether to accept an incoming transfer. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by the operator of BeeTransfer and protected by applicable law. You retain all rights to the media you transfer; we claim no ownership over your content. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

6. Privacy & Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Notice, which explains what we collect, how it is used, and your rights. By using the Service you consent to the data practices described there.

7. Media Storage & Retention Policy

Media sent through the encrypted relay is stored only transiently to complete delivery. Relayed transfer objects are automatically deleted from the server 30 days after they are created, and typically sooner once the recipient has accepted the transfer. Direct peer-to-peer transfers are not stored on our servers at all. Once media is imported into a recipient's device library, retention of that copy is controlled by the recipient.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any transfer will succeed in all network conditions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of BeeTransfer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, media, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid, if any, to use the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination & Account Deletion

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may permanently delete your account from within the app; in accordance with App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v), account deletion is available in-app and permanently removes your account and its associated data, including your profile, @username, friend relationships, and pending transfer records. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United States for any dispute arising from these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notice within the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

1. What We Collect

• Account information — your email address (and, if you sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple provides) used to create and authenticate your account.
• Profile & @username — the public handle and profile details you choose so others can send to you.
• Device identifiers — a push-notification token tied to your device so we can notify you about incoming transfers.
• Transfer metadata — technical details needed to coordinate a transfer, such as file hashes (SHA-256), file sizes, media type, and delivery status. Optionally, embedded media metadata such as capture date or dimensions travels inside your files; you can strip location data before sending in Settings.

2. What We Do Not Collect

We do not inspect, scan, or analyze the contents of your photos and videos. Media bytes are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they leave your device and are only decryptable by the intended recipient. We cannot read your media.

3. How We Use Data

• To create and secure your account and authenticate you;
• To route and deliver your transfers and verify their integrity;
• To let other users find you by @username and to manage friend relationships;
• To send transactional push notifications about transfers you are part of.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers strictly to operate the Service:

• Supabase — provides authentication, database, and encrypted object storage for relayed transfers.
• Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — delivers push notifications to your device.

These providers process data on our behalf under their respective terms. We may disclose data if required by law.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Relayed media objects are stored transiently and automatically deleted from the server no later than 30 days after creation, typically sooner once accepted. Peer-to-peer transfers are never stored on our servers. Account data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, your account and associated data are permanently removed.

6. Your Rights

• Access — you can view your profile and account information in the app;
• Correction — you can update your profile and @username;
• Deletion — you can permanently delete your account in-app, which wipes all associated data.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the app.
